Just a quick note about E-commerce websites. The impression is that now, e-commerce is easy to set-up. E-businesses can practically be launched overnight. For businesses that run a brick and mortar store, however, it is important to remember that the challenge lies in maintaining the merchandise. How do you keep up with all your inventory, offline and online? Do you keep the POS separate from your web database or is it best to have your database centralized?

Investigate if your e-commerce can readily integrate with your POS system
What platform does your POS run on?
Is it networked in multiple locations?
Is your current shopping cart scalable?

There is no absolute yes or no, right or wrong. It entirely depends on the business you have. Success comes with due diligence. Before launching an e-commerce, consider the entire workflow and cycle, from posting the product online to what the customer will experience.
